Health Belief

This week, you learned about the physical and psychological benefits of exercise and how it can be used to effectively relieve stress. You also learned about additional strategies to reduce stressful behaviors, barriers to action, and behavior change theories. As part of this journal assignment, you will apply the Stages of Change and Health Belief model theories to either change a presently unwanted behavior or adopt a healthy behavior.

Complete the lab assessment 14.4 as instructed. Upon completion of the assessment, compose an APA formatted paper and address the following:

  • Explain a health behavior you would like to change or a behavior you would like to adopt.
  • Evaluate your stage of change based on the course readings.
  • Appraise five strategies that will help you move to the next stage of change.
  • Develop a strategy for each construct (perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, cues to action, self-efficacy) of the Health Belief model, which can aid in achieving your goal.
